Our Learning

Maths

maths2maths 1We have designed our Maths curriculum to develop vital life skills for all the children. We recognise that mathematical knowledge and understanding helps children gain a greater understanding of the world.

At Bawdeswell Primary school we follow the National Curriculum guidance for Maths. The school adapts the White Rose scheme planning to ensure the National curriculum is covered and the needs of the individual children are met. The learning is sequenced to enable the children to always build on previous learning to deepen and broaden their understanding of maths. Links are made to other areas of the Curriculum for example links to Working Scientifically (Science)

maths3Our sequencing documents show how the different areas of maths teaching (Addition and Subtraction/ Multiplication and Division/Fractions/Geometry/ Measuring/ Place Value) are sequenced and developed from Reception up to Year 6 in preparation for High School.

This is underpinned by our Values and Ethos statement which shows our aim is for the children to:

Love your learning,   Have a positive attitude, Always believe in yourself.

This is also underpinned in our ‘Learning Wheel’

‘Have a love of numbers, technology, investigating and building’.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises ten Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
